| Blake Arata is a founding member of the Firm. For more than 55 years, he has been litigating matters involving a great variety of oil and gas disputes and has been handling the negotiation, drafting, and review of complex contracts involving oil and gas transactions. Blake also conducts extensive title examinations of oil and gas properties, acquiring thereby an intimate familiarity with Louisiana property law.
Blake served as City Attorney for the City of New Orleans from 1970-1975, and is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He earned both his law degree and his undergraduate degree from Loyola University New Orleans. During law school, he was awarded the Faculty Award for finishing first in his class and as an undergraduate student he was a member of the track team. In 1999, he was inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame.
